The couple, based in South Africa, engaged in a heated argument over the responsibility of serving the meal. The Igbo man, arriving home late, insisted that his wife serve him directly from the pot.

However, his wife resisted, arguing that she had already prepared the food, and he could simply take a plate and serve himself. This disagreement sparked a commotion as the man insisted that, in his culture, it's unheard of for him to serve himself from his wife's pot.

The South African wife countered, asserting that they were currently in her country, where his cultural norms held no sway.

This caused a ruckus as the man insisted it is unheard of in his culture for him to go his wife’s pot and serve himself.

The South African wife disagreed, supporting her claim by saying they were in her country now so his culture doesn’t hold water.
