Renowned rapper, Afeez Fashola, professionally known as Naira Marley, has initiated legal action against actress Iyabo Ojo, seeking a substantial sum of N500 million in damages and a public apology.
In a formal letter presented by Naira Marley's legal representation, Olalekan Ojo (SAN) & Co., the rapper alleges that Iyabo Ojo's Instagram account disseminated malicious and inaccurate content.
The letter specifies that Iyabo Ojo accused Naira Marley of engaging in both spiritual and physical dealings with the late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. This accusation allegedly occurred in an Instagram post made in September 2023, the month of Mohbad's demise.
Naira Marley's legal counsel asserts that Iyabo Ojo also accused their client of subjecting Mohbad to mental torture.
The attorney's letter stipulates a seven-day window for Iyabo Ojo to issue a public apology on her official Instagram account and in a national daily. Failure to comply within this timeframe would result in Naira Marley filing a lawsuit and pursuing the N500 million in damages from the actress.
