Today, a funeral service was held for the 22 soldiers who tragically lost their lives in a devastating combat and air crash incident in Niger State on August 14, 2023. The solemn ceremony took place at the military cemetery in Abuja, with grief-stricken families and high-ranking government officials gathering to pay their final respects.
Under the sky adorned with streaks of clouds, the bodies of the courageous soldiers were laid to rest with full military honors.
Amidst a mix of sorrow and strength, the wives of the fallen soldiers stood united in their grief, offering support to one another during this heart-wrenching moment.
Prominent government functionaries, including the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, and the State counterpart, Bello Matawalle, were in attendance at the funeral ceremony.
The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, was also present, his solemn demeanor reflecting the gravity of the occasion.
