Andy Cole, a former Manchester United striker, recently expressed his belief that even if the club manages to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, they will not be able to win the Premier League title. Osimhen is reportedly a top priority target for Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window. The Nigerian international has been in impressive form this season, scoring 25 goals in 31 Serie A appearances and helping Napoli clinch the league title after 33 years.

Speaking to BoyleSports ahead of an FA Cup final match between Manchester United and Manchester City, Andy Cole expressed his frustration with the notion that buying a couple of players would automatically make a team title contenders. He stated that Manchester United cannot win the league next season, even with the addition of Victor Osimhen. Cole emphasized that if it were that simple, Manchester City would not be in such a dominant position in the league. He firmly believed that two players, including Osimhen, would not be enough for Manchester United to compete for the league title. Cole said, "Unless Manchester City don't buy anyone this summer and say 'we'll let everyone catch us up,' football doesn't work like that. So I'm honest when people ask if Manchester United can compete for the league title next season, I say no."

Commenting on Jadon Sancho's form, Cole stated that the young player should do what makes him comfortable. While acknowledging Sancho's potential as a great player, Cole highlighted the ups and downs that are part of football. He pointed out that players like Marcus Rashford, who returned to basics this season, can become fantastic again. Cole noted that ultimately, it will be up to Erik ten Hag to decide Sancho's long-term future at Manchester United. He concluded by mentioning that Manchester United would need better players to compete for the league title, and the outcome of the summer transfer window will shed light on the team's ambitions.
