[p]Controversial political activist, Reno Omokri, has weighed in on the recent sentencing of former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife over multiple charges involving attempted organ harvesting.

[p]In a recent statement, Reno Omokri shared his thoughts on the matter and suggested that if the child involved had been from Northern Nigeria, the situation would have been handled differently. He drew from his experience in the Northern region of Nigeria, where he claims that disagreements and disputes are often resolved using Islamic principles rather than involving law enforcement agencies.

[p]Reno Omokri stated that if a Northern Nigerian Muslim had been brought to London by another Northern Nigerian Muslim to save his daughter's life, but the intended donor changed his mind, the situation would likely have been resolved within the Muslim community. He suggests that instead of going to the nearest police station, the person involved would have gone to the nearest mosque.

[p]According to him, this is because disagreements and disputes within the Northern Nigerian Muslim community are often resolved using Islamic principles. He praises Northern Nigerian Muslims for their tendency to cover their own in good and bad times, building unity, and bringing power. He adds that any rebuke would be done in private rather than publicly, further strengthening their unity.

[p]While he does not support what Ike Ekweremadu and his wife are accused of doing, he empathizes with them and prays that he never finds himself in such a position. He concludes by praying for relief for the Ekweremadus in Yeshua's Name.
