The family of the late actor, Mr Ibu, has officially announced the burial arrangements and the date for his interment.
Following his passing on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62, the family disclosed that Mr Ibu's final resting place will be in his hometown, Amuri, located in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
In a statement cosigned by Mr Ibu's brother, Elder Sunday Okafor, the family expressed their desire to honor the late comic actor's memory, describing him as a hero and a legend who left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and liveliness.
The statement further detailed the schedule of events for the burial ceremony, beginning with a high-profile novelty match on Tuesday, June 25. The following day, Wednesday, June 26, would feature "Mr. Ibu’s Night," which includes a candlelight procession and live entertainment.
On June 27, a Christian wake would take place at his compound in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West, followed by the funeral service on June 28.
The five-day burial ceremony will conclude on Sunday, June 30, with a church Thanksgiving service attended by friends, family, and well-wishers to celebrate the life of the late actor.
