Renowned Nigerian singer, Joeboy, openly acknowledges the challenges he faced in acclimating to fame, confessing that he was caught off guard by the swift rise to stardom.
On the latest episode of the Afrobeats Intelligence Podcast, Joeboy shared insights into the unexpected nature of his fame.
He expressed astonishment at the rapid global success of his debut hit song, 'Baby,' which gained massive popularity within a mere three months of its release.
Reflecting on his sudden rise to fame, Joeboy revealed that he hadn't foreseen being widely recognized so quickly.
In his own words;
“I wasn’t ready when ‘Baby’ blew. I had to adapt to get used to fame. It was so sudden. I dropped the song [‘Baby’] in March [2019], and by June I was already doing shows in countries I thought they don’t listen to Nigerian music. Countries like Tanzania, and Uganda. In three months!”
