Israel DMW, the logistics manager for Nigerian artist Davido, has taken a stand against individuals ridiculing his boss for not securing a Grammy Award.
As widely known, Davido lost all three of his Grammy nominations, a fate shared with other Nigerian artists, leading to relentless mockery by some Nigerians.
Israel DMW, who continued to express admiration for his boss despite the loss, criticized trolls for mocking the singer.
He argued that those mocking Davido were essentially mocking themselves, asserting that Davido's name was still used for publicity despite not clinching the award.
Addressing the trolls, he advised them to reflect on their lives 20 years from now and contemplate if they would ever surpass the achievements of the Afrobeat star.
In his perspective, past awardees may not have truly deserved the accolade.
His words: “You’re completely mocking urself, if you think you’re mocking oga, in an already well-programmed event, where oga’s name had to even been used to be used as publicity. Look at ur life in the next 20 years, if you’ll be better than oga, in any way. Look at the life of some past awardee, if they ever merited it.”
