This commendation comes in the midst of recent controversies surrounding discussions on who has or has not laid the groundwork for afrobeat artists in the industry.

Daniel Regha, speaking on the X platform, asserted that Olamide has significantly impacted the careers of many artists, serving as a mentor, elevating, and inspiring a new generation of talents.

The critic boldly declared that, when it comes to laying the groundwork for afrobeat artists, no one from Olamide's set comes close, despite the rapper receiving minimal recognition for his contributions.

Expressing his dismay at the lack of acknowledgment for Olamide's impact, Regha stated, “Olamide has impacted many artists' careers, then went ahead to elevate, mentor, & inspire some new-generation artistes; When it comes to paving the way for his colleagues, no one from his set comes close, but he’s barely given due credit. The rate at which people belittle his impact is upsetting.”

Clearly, Olamide's record label, YBNL, has played host to some of the industry's most popular artists, including Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Lyta, Fireboy DML, Asake, among others.
