Blessing Okoro remanded in prison for cyber-bullying and libel

[p]Famous relationship adviser, Blessing Okoro, has been remanded in prison [/b]until May 30 for alleged cyber-bullying, libel, and the exhibition of uncensored movies. The Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon arrested Blessing on Thursday, 30th of March, leading to her arraignment.

[p]During the hearing, the prosecution counsel, Rotshang Faith Dimka of the Force Headquarters in Abuja, accused Blessing of intentionally sending messages through her Instagram handle, @officialblessingceo, to bully, threaten, and harass Folashade Samuels, who is also known as Mamajazz. Mamajazz is the younger sister of the late Bimbo Ogbonna, wife of automobile businessman Ikechukwu Ogbonna, also known as IVD. The alleged messages were sent on October 16, 2022.

[p]The prosecution also accused Blessing of using her Instagram handle to damage the reputation of Folashade Samuels and the late Bimbo Ogbonna by exposing them to hatred, contempt, and ridicule. Some of the messages allegedly sent by Blessing Okoro include the following:

According to the police, some of the messages allegedly sent by Blessing Okoro include;

[p]“Let’s ask Mamajazz where her father is??? Their father had exactly the same issue with their mother Ebele and he ran away for his dear life. IVD’s crime was that he was not man enough to run…

[p]The family of late Bimbo is after IVD’’s properties and life. Especially her elder sister Mamajazz. Bimbo and IVD are well-known people in Lagos and it’s not a hidden fact that even in their estate that Bimbo is violent.

[p]The police accused the defendants of violating Section 24 (2)(a)(1) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015, Section 375 of the Criminal Code Act, and Section 33 of the NFVCB Act, 2004. Despite the charges, Blessing pleaded not guilty.

[p]Justice Yelim Bogoro presided over the case and ordered that Blessing Okoro be held in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) until May 30 when her bail application would be heard.
