Talented Nigerian vocalist, Victory Gbakara, has emerged as the winner of the Season 8 edition of the music talent hunt franchise, Nigerian Idol.
Victory Gbakara showcased his exceptional talent throughout the ten-week duration of the show, which premiered in April and concluded on July 16. The show was hosted by the renowned IK Osakioduwa, and the live performances were aired during this period.
The announcement of Victory Gbakara's well-deserved win took place during the Sunday episode of the show, which culminated in a captivating performance of Wizkid's hit song "Blessed" by Gbakara himself.
As the winner of the 2023 Nigerian Idol, Victory Gbakara will receive a prestigious prize worth N100 million, which includes N35 million in cash. Additionally, Gbakara's triumph comes with a music record contract and the opportunity to shoot a music video.
The finale of the show featured an enthralling group performance by all the contestants, accompanied by the judges. Leading the chorus of this remarkable performance were D’banj, Simi, and Obi Asika, who delivered an impressive rendition of "Hall of Fame," a popular song by the Star of Copenhagen, Switzerland, released in 2014.
It is noteworthy that the first season of Nigerian Idol aired in 2010, coinciding with the country's 50th anniversary.
