President Tinubu and Peter Obi

Peter Obi emphasized that leaders who urge their followers to make sacrifices for the betterment of Nigeria must also lead by example. He stressed the need to reduce the cost of governance, a position he has consistently held.

While addressing the issue, Obi stated, "I have not seen the video you mentioned, but let me reiterate what I have always maintained: in present-day Nigeria, those who serve and lead must do so by setting a good example. The behavior, character, and public conduct of leaders must align with societal expectations. We cannot continue to preach sacrifice to the people without making sacrifices ourselves."

He further added, "Leaders must visibly and measurably lead by example at all times, as the people are suffering, and we must all bear the brunt of that suffering together."

Speaking about the late Archbishop Anikwenwa, Obi acknowledged his significant contributions to Nigeria beyond his pastoral duties, particularly in advocating for good governance and a better Nigeria. He described the late Archbishop as a great Nigerian and Igbo man, noting the large attendance at his burial ceremony as a testament to his impact and influence.

Several prominent individuals, including Anambra State Governor Prof Chukwuma Soludo, his deputy Dr Onyekachi Ibezim, Senator Victor Umeh, and Archbishop Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Dr Chibuzo Ibezim, paid tribute to Anikwenwa during the event.

Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria, Most Reverend Dr Henry Ndukuba, referred to Anikwenwa as a devoted follower of Christ, highlighting his wealth of knowledge and understanding of church history. He expressed that Anikwenwa's passing is not only a loss to the diocese but also to the entire church and the nation, considering his esteemed recognition by the country. Ndukuba commended Anikwenwa's discipline and punctuality, offering words of comfort to his wife and children, urging them to find solace in the fact that he lived a remarkable life.
