A Nigerian pastor has cried out in frustration after alleging that one of his own church members stole his iPhone 14 Pro Max during service. The incident, which was captured in a now trending video, has sparked a wave of mixed reactions online as many questioned how such an act could take place within the church premises.
In the viral video, the visibly heartbroken clergyman stood before his congregation to announce the theft of his device. He passionately appealed to the individual responsible to quietly return the iPhone within the church compound before he takes further action. According to him, the matter could escalate into serious consequences if not resolved quickly.
The pastor emphasized that he would not hesitate to involve law enforcement agencies if the phone is not returned promptly. He further stressed that while he was extending grace by giving the thief a chance to repent, he also had the means to ensure the culprit is brought to justice.
He vows to involve the DSS
While addressing the congregation, the clergyman issued a stern warning, declaring that he was prepared to work with the Department of State Services (DSS) to track the missing iPhone. He insisted that whoever is found guilty would end up behind bars, regardless of their position in the church.
“Whatever I have, I will use it to put that person in prison,” he lamented bitterly, expressing how betrayed he felt that such an incident could occur in a place of worship. His statement underscored his determination to pursue justice if the matter is not amicably resolved within the church.
Mixed reactions trail the incident
The revelation has since triggered a flood of reactions on social media, with many users mocking the situation while others sympathized with the clergyman.
