Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, widely known as Nasboi, a popular skitmaker, has shared that imitating the renowned music star Davido as 'Low budget OBO' was instrumental in gaining recognition within the entertainment industry and on social media.
During an episode of MTV Base Naija Top 10, Nasboi, who is also a content creator and brand ambassador for multiple brands, acknowledged that his initial imitation of Davido was intended to capture the artist's attention and secure an opportunity to perform for him.
Nasboi stated, "I started off mimicking Davido. So, the plan was to get David's attention for my music. I disturbed this guy until he invited me one day, and I started playing my music.
"My mimics of Davido started gaining attention from everyone, so I thought, 'Okay, let's jump on it.' That's how I began creating skits. I had no other option but to make skits," he added.
Expressing his gratitude, Nasboi wrote a note appreciating Davido and other celebrities in the entertainment industry.
He said, "Dear Nasboi,
