Mike Onyemachara, a former member of the Flying Eagles team who won a silver medal in Saudi Arabia in 1989, has passed away on Thursday, May 4th, 2023. According to reports, he was in good health when his wife and children left for work and school, respectively. However, upon their return, they found that the food on the table had not been touched and Onyemachara had passed away. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear at this time, although there are rumours that he may have passed away in his 3-bedroom apartment in Ajegunle. Some of his close teammates have reported that he had been experiencing back pain in recent times.
Onyemachara was known for his skill as a defender and played most of his games with First Bank of Lagos. He was also a valuable member of the Saudi 89 Flying Eagles team.
