A Nigerian man has caused a stir on social media after he declared that he intends to divorce his wife of seven years because she did not support the presidential candidate he favored in the recent election. The man, whose identity has not been revealed, was reportedly enraged when he discovered that his wife had voted for a rival candidate instead of the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, whom he had supported. The incident occurred on Saturday, February 25, and a video of the man venting his anger has since gone viral on social media.
In the video, which was shared on multiple platforms, the man can be seen ranting about his wife's choice of candidate and threatening to leave her over it. Despite attempts by officials around him to calm him down, he refused to be placated and continued to express his anger towards his wife. It is unclear whether the man was serious about his threat of divorce, or if he was simply venting his frustrations in the heat of the moment.
