A Nigerian father has captured massive attention online after sharing a deeply emotional video where he accused his wife of inflating their daughter’s school fees by hundreds of thousands of naira. The shocking revelation has stirred widespread debate, drawing sympathy from many while leaving others questioning the dynamics of trust within marriages.
The viral video, uploaded on X by @AsakyGRN, shows the visibly shaken man narrating how he unsuspectingly fell victim to his wife’s alleged deception. According to him, she had confidently informed him that their daughter’s school fees were ₦480,000, a figure he immediately provided without hesitation, believing that she wanted the very best for their child’s education.
However, the man’s trust was shattered after he decided to personally visit the school. To his astonishment, the school administration disclosed that the actual fees were only ₦145,000 — barely a third of the amount he had been made to pay. Overcome with disbelief, he recalled how he felt betrayed not just as a husband, but also as a father dedicated to his child’s future.
In his own words, he lamented: “Please men, don’t allow your wife to register your child in school. My wife collected ₦480,000 but she paid ₦145,000. I only discovered when I went to pick up my daughter and asked about assignments. I was shocked when they told me their school fees is ₦145,000. That’s why I had to go alone, because Mama Aria didn’t want me to know.”
Concerns over wife’s lifestyle
The heartbroken father also raised fresh concerns about his wife’s recent lifestyle choices. He revealed that she had been frequently acquiring new clothes and attributing them to supposed gifts from a friend abroad, a claim that now fuels his suspicion about where the remaining school fees money had gone. His voice cracked as he confessed that the discovery had left him questioning the foundation of his marriage.
According to him, the revelation hit so hard that he had to park his car by the roadside just to process his emotions. He admitted that he struggled with thoughts of whether to continue the marriage, saying the betrayal cut too deep for him to ignore easily.
