Lagos State University (LASU) has issued a statement debunking reports of a cultist attack on singers Bella Shmurda and Odumodublvck at dancer Poco Lee's homecoming party, which took place on Thursday. The artists had attended the university to show support for Poco Lee, who organized the concert. According to LASU's spokesman, Thomas-Onashile Oluwayemisi, the reports of cultists attacking the performers were contrary to the true account of the event. Oluwayemisi condemned the unfortunate incident but emphasized that there were no physical attacks on Bella Shmurda, Poco Lee, or any other artist. He further clarified that the commotion that occurred towards the end of the event was a result of excited students reacting to one of their own performing live on campus. The LASU spokesperson attributed the uproar to poor crowd control logistics and planning by the independent entertainment outfit that organized the show. Oluwayemisi also mentioned that the organizers had sold tickets online, instructing attendees to obtain physical tickets at the venue. He concluded by stating that the event concluded without any documented instances of cult attacks, contrary to what was being circulated.
