In recent advice from a well-known relationship counselor, men are urged to exercise caution when dating women who out-earn them. The counselor, maintaining anonymity on the X app, consistently advocates for men to stay ahead of their female partners by at least five steps.
His firm belief is grounded in the idea that men should not be dependent on their female counterparts but should instead take on a leadership role in the relationship.
Expressing this viewpoint in a tweet, he states, "If you drive a Toyota Corolla, don't date a lady driving a Benz. If you earn 500k, don't date a lady earning 1m. If you're a BSc holder, don't date a lady with a PhD. If you've never left Nigeria before, don't date a lady who has traveled the world. End."
In a follow-up tweet, the counselor takes a swipe at so-called "big boys" in Lekki and Abuja, accusing them of waiting for their female partners to provide for them.
