[p]The Osun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, has reported the recovery of N27,171,400 and N21,900 from the scene of a fatal accident that occurred on the 4th of April, 2023, at Iwaraja Junction on the Ilesa-Akure expressway.

[p]The collision, which involved a red Toyota Sienna with registration number KTU896HX and a green Zafira Opel with number GBA440XA traveling in opposite directions on the Ipetu-Ilesa axis, claimed the lives of six persons and left others severely injured. According to Agnes Ogungbemi, the Osun FRSC Sector Public Education Officer, the accident involved 11 males and 3 females, with six males losing their lives, seven sustaining severe injuries, and only one person remaining unhurt.
[/p][p]The injured victims were taken to Wesley Hospital Ilesa, while the bodies were deposited at the same hospital morgue. N21,900, belonging to the driver of the green Zafira Opel, was handed over to the Nigeria Police Ijebu Ijesa, who also towed the vehicles to their station.
[/p][p]The sum of N27,171,400 was recovered and handed over to the victims’ family members. The FRSC has urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules and regulations and to drive cautiously in order to prevent road accidents.
