In a U.S. court, Duane "Keefe D" Davis, a 60-year-old former gang leader, entered a not guilty plea in the murder case of the iconic rapper Tupac Shakur. Davis had been charged in September 2023 in connection to the murder of Tupac, stemming from a dispute with the rapper at a casino. The police alleged that Davis had orchestrated the shooting, along with his late nephew, Orlando Anderson.

The police presented hotel security footage from September 7, 1996, showing several men assaulting and punching Orlando Anderson, which was believed to have led to the retaliation shooting of Tupac while he was waiting in his car at a red light. Shakur passed away in the hospital six days later at the age of 25.

However, during a court hearing in Las Vegas, Davis firmly denied the murder accusation. When asked by District Judge Tierra Jones to enter a plea, he responded with a straightforward "Not guilty."

After the hearing, Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson commented, "We talked about it, and I determined that it's not a case in which we should seek the death penalty. The fact that the world is watching really doesn't matter. What we care about is presenting the evidence to a jury so that the jury can make the ultimate decision," as reported by the Review-Journal.
