Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has issued a stern warning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the expulsion of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, from the party.
Fayose emphasized that the PDP would be making a grave mistake if it were to expel Wike, as he is a significant force within the party.
Fayose made this cautionary statement during his appearance on Channels Television's "Hard Copy." He firmly stated, "The moment I am not in the PDP, I would never join another political party. And I would never be a member of the APC – not whether they are good or bad."
Regarding the calls within the party to take action against Wike, Fayose expressed his view, saying, "Some people say fight Wike, expel Wike, sack Wike. I think they do that at their own peril. You see, the first thing in your family, even when you have extreme situations or indifferences, is not to drive away your wife or husband."
He went on to stress Wike's significance, both within the PDP and beyond it, stating, "Wike is a force in the PDP and beyond PDP, a force you cannot ignore, ignore Wike, sack Wike, or fight Wike at your own peril. He is a man of capacity."
Calls for Wike's expulsion from the PDP emerged after his decision to support President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the recent presidential election. Wike has since declared that nobody can expel him from the former ruling party.
