An elderly man has stirred controversy by suggesting that the nation's economy thrives due to the activities of internet fraudsters, commonly known as Yahoo boys. In a viral video, the man contends that these individuals play a significant role in keeping Nigeria's economy afloat.
He mentioned various establishments such as luxury hotels, and expensive restaurants and argued that these places are being patronized by the fraudsters causing an increase in release and circulation of money within the economy.
The elderly man stated that there’s no justifiable reason for the government to curb Yahoo because there is no alternative such as jobs in place for these youths to go into.
