Sharing a deeply tragic incident, a colleague of the late doctor, Vwaere Diaso, has revealed the heartbreaking last words she uttered before her untimely passing. Dr. Vwaere Diaso, a dedicated medical practitioner, tragically lost her life in an elevator accident at Lagos Island General Hospital, Odan, just two weeks shy of completing her housemanship.

In a sorrowful account shared on Twitter by Vwaere’s colleague with the handle @LaseMoye, the harrowing event unfolded right before her eyes on Tuesday, August 1.

Recounting the ordeal, Moye explained that Vwaere was on her way to the ground floor to collect a food delivery from a dispatch rider when the elevator suddenly plummeted from the 10th floor.

Despite pressing the elevator's open button, Moye couldn't enter it herself as she was engaged in a video call. The tragic sound of a massive crash resonated moments later, prompting the dispatch rider to flee the scene. An alarm was raised to alert others that Vwaere was trapped inside the elevator, triggering immediate efforts to rescue her.

"They tried to use rods to open it, to be sure it wasn’t a joke. They finally opened it and the sight was gruesome. Muffled sounds of excruciating pain and agony became apparent," Moye shared.

"I remember telling her to relax that help is coming, she said 'Don’t tell me to relax, tell them to get me out of here.' We eventually got her out and she kept saying she thinks she’ll die," she added.

"Emergency care was almost zero and inside a hospital for that matter. There was no blood in the hospital. She was eventually wheeled out but she was already weak and kept saying 'I don’t want to die.' They commenced CPR and the finality of it all happened," Moye sorrowfully recounted.
