The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) and the police have received an interim order from a federal high court in Kano, which restrains them from arresting Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State. The court order comes in response to alleged dollar bribe videos involving Ganduje. The PCACC had invited Ganduje to appear before them next week for an investigation into the matter. However, the court order also extends to other parties such as the inspector-general of police (IGP), Kano commissioner of police, the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the attorney-general of the federation, and the attorney-general of Kano, preventing them from taking any action against Ganduje. The court order remains in effect until the hearing and determination of the substantive motion. The suit was filed by Hemba, counsel to Ganduje. The court order specifically prohibits harassment, intimidation, detention, and arrest of Ganduje, his family members, and former appointees, as well as the seizure of their properties. The order aims to protect Ganduje and his associates pending further legal proceedings.
