At the 2023 BET Awards held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, Nigerian superstars Burna Boy and Tems emerged as winners. The event, which took place on June 26, 2023, celebrated 50 years of Hip Hop and showcased spectacular performances by rap legends including KRS1, Big Daddy, and Fat Joe.
During the show, Davido, another Nigerian sensation, took the stage and mesmerized the audience with his chart-topping single "Unavailable." This marked the second consecutive year that an Afrobeats artist performed at the main event, following Fireboy's performance last year.
Burna Boy was honored with the Best International Act award, recognizing his remarkable contributions to the global music scene. Additionally, Tems secured the Best Collaboration award for the second year in a row, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to Future's track "Wait For U."
