Police officers serving in the Nsukka Area Command of Enugu State have apprehended Obed Chekwube Ugwuanyi (also known as MC Sharp), Chinenye Agbo (also known as Star Ella Ada), and Anastasia Onu for their involvement in assaulting a young woman named Chinenye.
The trio, along with others who are currently at large, are linked to a viral video where Chinenye was subjected to physical abuse, stripped, and forcibly had her hair shaved off.
Chinenye was accused of physically attacking Anastasia, who is reportedly Obed’s girlfriend, and biting her on the chest.
However, according to a statement by the police spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the suspects are claiming that the video, which has sparked public outrage due to the severe assault and degrading treatment inflicted on Chinenye as seen in the video, was intended as a prank to gain followers on their social media accounts.
Ndukwe added, “The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, while condemning the act, has ordered the State CID Enugu to thoroughly investigate and prosecute those found culpable, to serve as a deterrent to anyone who may want to perpetrate such an act under the guise of a prank.”
