[p]The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a directive to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, demanding a thorough investigation into the recent invasion and vandalization of the residence of former Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara. [p]Mada emphasized that the invasion of Matawalle's homes, carried out by individuals posing as security operatives, was a flagrant violation of several sections of the Nigerian Constitution, including sections 34, 35, 37, 41, and 42.

[p]"Our investigation at both the Gusau and Maradu residences of Bello Matawalle has confirmed that no warrants or legal documents were presented during the invasion," stated Mada. He further revealed that the residences of other government officials who had served under Matawalle's administration were also targeted, with some of their personal vehicles being stolen by the same group responsible for the invasion.

[p]"If these acts go uninvestigated, it sets a dangerous precedent where criminals can don uniforms and carry out attacks on perceived enemies under the guise of official operations," Mada warned. "As a party, we vehemently condemn such actions, and we will closely monitor the response of the relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served and that the police and the DSS are acting in the best interests of Nigeria rather than a particular political party."

[p]Mada called on party supporters and loyalists of Bello Matawalle to remain calm and avoid taking matters into their own hands while awaiting the outcome of the investigation by the police authorities.
