Speaking to Evening Standard a day after Chelsea's 2-1 defeat to Brighton at Stamford Bridge, Zakaria expressed disappointment in their recent performances and sympathized with the club's fans who have been affected by their poor performance.
According to Zakaria, "It wasn't enough, we were bad. We have to do way better. What was said stays between the coach, the owners and the team. Yes, I think it is good [that Lampard is honest] because we need more. We are not good. It is tough. It is difficult and we feel bad for the fans because we cannot play like that. It is tough and we have to do better. It is hard."
Despite the disappointing performance, Zakaria remains optimistic and stated that the team will do everything they can to come through their next game against Real Madrid and emerge victorious. He promised that the team will give their all until the end.
