Kompany has signed a contract with the German giants until the summer of 2027, marking his third managerial role following his retirement from professional football.

His managerial journey began at Anderlecht as a player-manager, where he helped stabilize the Belgian side. He then moved to Burnley, where he transformed them into a modern side and led them to Premier League promotion. Despite Burnley's subsequent relegation, Kompany's impact on the team has been widely applauded.

In his statement, Kompany expressed his excitement about the challenge of coaching FC Bayern, stating, "It is a great honor to be able to work for this club – FC Bayern is an institution in international football." He emphasized his coaching philosophy, highlighting the importance of creativity, aggressiveness, and bravery on the field.

"I am now looking forward to the very elementary things: to work with the players, to form a team. When the base is standing, success also comes," the Manchester City legend added.

Bayern's search for a new head coach has been extensive, considering candidates like Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick, Unai Emery, Oliver Glasner, Hansi Flick, and even planning a return for Tuchel. Kompany's appointment has finally ended this lengthy process, allowing Bayern to focus attention on player signings for the summer, including a potential move for Nico Williams.
