“Following four seasons with Chelsea, Thiago Silva will depart after our final game of the Premier League season against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge and re-join Brazilian club Fluminense,” Chelsea said.
Silva’s return to Fluminense marks a full-circle in his illustrious career.
His journey began with the club before embarking on a successful European career.
With a two-year contract agreed with Fluminense, Silva will join his new teammates early for training, ahead of his official registration on July 1.
During his time at Chelsea, Silva made a significant impact, making over 150 appearances and contributing to major title victories.
He helped the Blues win the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
He was also named the club’s Player of the Year for the 2022/23 season, for his outstanding performances.
His football journey has taken him across continents, from his early days in Brazil to stints in Europe with AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, where he won numerous titles and established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the game.
