Nigeria’s Super Eagles have set off from Lagos, embarking on their journey to Ivory Coast for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
This continental tournament, commencing on Saturday, January 13, will witness 24 African nations competing for the prestigious title across five cities in Ivory Coast—Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, Bouaké, San-Pedro, and Korhogo.
Grouped in Group A, the Super Eagles will kick off their campaign against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, January 14.

Following a brief training camp in Abu Dhabi, where they faced Guinea in a friendly and suffered a 2-0 loss, Coach Jose Peseiro emphasized that it was a tactical experiment, not a cause for concern.
As they enter the competition, Nigeria aims to secure their fourth AFCON title, with their last triumph in 2013.
