Manchester City have moved closer to securing their second consecutive Premier League title with a convincing 3-0 victory over Everton on Sunday, May 14th. Despite Everton's strong defensive efforts in the first half, City managed to break the deadlock in the 37th minute thanks to an impressive goal from Ilkay Gundogan. The midfielder controlled a cross from Riyad Mahrez before flicking the ball beyond Everton's goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, with the outside of his boot and while facing the wrong way. Less than two minutes later, Gundogan played a key role in City's second goal by providing a precise cross to Erling Haaland, who headed the ball into the back of the net. This was Haaland's 36th Premier League goal of the season and his 52nd in all competitions. City extended their lead to 3-0 early in the second half when Phil Foden was fouled just outside the penalty area, and Gundogan scored his second of the match by expertly placing the ball into the top corner of the net.
