Recently, Rema had the opportunity to perform at the prestigious 2023 Ballon D'Or, which further underscores his rising status in the music world. He reflected on his career and stated that, although he is contemplating leaving the music industry at this moment, his current standing has essentially etched his name in the annals of the Afrobeats genre.

Rema's journey to fame has been a remarkable one. Notably, he graced the cover of the fourth edition of The New Wave issue of i-D Magazine, showcasing his rising influence in the music industry.

In his own words, Rema stated, "I'm not saying I want to stop. But if I say I want to stop right now, my name is still going to be on the Afrobeats bible, if there is an Afrobeats bible to be dropped. I'll literally be in the New Testament, on the front page."

Furthermore, Rema recalled the early days of his career when he faced ridicule from fans and critics due to his unique sound, which featured a Bollywood influence. However, he used these challenges as motivation, transforming them into opportunities for growth and success. Rema pointed out, "Everything they doubted, everything they laughed at me for, I built on it. They called me Indian Boy; I went to India. I'm the first artist to shut down four cities in India, 5000 capacity and above. No one can deny that I've impacted Afrobeats on a global scale."

This showcases Rema's confidence in his contribution to Afrobeats and his belief that his name is already engraved in the history of the genre.
