Entering the match under pressure due to significant upsets by Angola, including eliminating Namibia in the round of 16, Nigeria swiftly settled in. The defining moment came just before half-time with a precise finish by Ademola Lookman, courtesy of a low pass from Moses Simon on the left, leaving Angola's goalkeeper helpless.

Lookman's spectacular strike, his third in the tournament, all coming in the knockout stages, solidifies his place as the fourth Nigerian in history to score three goals in the AFCON knockout stages.

While Lookman shone for the Super Eagles, Osimhen made a notable impact in Jose Peseiro’s attacking lineup. Despite his headed goal being ruled out for offside in the second half, his pressure on Angola’s defense was evident.

Simon's dynamic play from the flank, including an impressive dribble through two Angola players, added to the Super Eagles' dominance. The defensive lineup featuring Troost-Ekong, Celvin Bassey, Ola Aina, and Semi Ajayi thwarted major threats from the opponents.

Nwabali, returning from injury, displayed a spectacular performance and enthusiasm on the pitch.

The Super Eagles will now face the winners of the match between Cape Verde and South Africa on February 7.
