Youssef En-Nesyri scored the opening goal of the match for Sevilla in the first half. They seemed to be in control of the game and were expected to take the lead back to Seville before Gatti’s late goal.

The only goal for Sevilla came from a sharp counter-attack finished by the Moroccan international, En-Nesyri, in the 26th minute. They could have added another but were denied by a couple of saves from Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Juventus appeared to be struggling in the game and managed their first shot on target in the 65th minute when substitute Samuel Iling Junior took a shot from distance which was easily saved by Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

The introduction of substitute Federico Chiesa brought energy to Juventus. They were rewarded for their efforts when substitute Gatti headed home the equalizer in the 97th minute, securing a 1-1 draw for Juventus in the first leg.

The second leg of the Europa League semi-final between the two teams will be held next week and is expected to be an exciting encounter.
