Wike credits God for PDP's win in Rivers

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, attributed the victory of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the state's governorship election to God. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared PDP's candidate, Siminialayi Fubara, as the governor-elect on Monday, March 20th, after he defeated Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to the Returning Officer who announced the results in Port Harcourt, Fubara secured 302,614 votes while Tonye Cole came second with a total number of 95,274 votes.

Speaking at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Governor Wike expressed his gratitude to God, saying that it was only God that could guarantee this kind of victory for the party. He acknowledged the efforts of party members and supporters who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the PDP in the election.

Meanwhile, the governor-elect, Siminialayi Fubara, has promised the people of Rivers State that he will not disappoint them. The people of the state have high hopes that the incoming administration will deliver on its promises and bring positive changes to their lives.
