Coming after social media and microblogging platform, Twitter crashed for some hours, CEO, Jack Dorsey has revealed a special emoji for the #EndSARS campaign happening across Nigeria.
Twitter experienced issues globally with large numbers of users across the US, Europe and Africa unable to post tweets, access their timelines, or see notifications.
A notice posted on Twitter’s status page on Thursday, October 15, said the company was “Investigating Irregularity with Twitter APIs.”
According to DownDetector.com, reports of problems with Twitter began to spike just after 5:30 p.m. ET, and soared to over 45,000 by 5:42 p.m.
Kemi FIani News recalls that the tech boss tweeted his support for the #EndSARS protests and called for Bitcoin donations towards the movement two days ago.
After fixing the issues with the platform, Jack Dorsey revealed a special #EndSARS emoji, a fist with the color of the Nigerian flag.
Nigerians have flooded his comment session to thank him for his support and the special #EndSARS emoji he created for the movement.
