Bola Tinubu has requested the Court of Appeals to issue an order compelling the International National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide him with certain crucial materials utilized during the 2023 general elections, as he intends to use them in his defense against the charges brought against him by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP).
Peter Obi had earlier taken legal action against INEC, Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) on grounds of election rigging.
Through his legal representative, Mr. Akintola Makinde, Tinubu revealed that the requested materials would play a crucial role in preparing his defense and enabling him to make comparisons with the information contained in the INEC's back-end server.
The court is yet to make a ruling on Tinubu's appeal.
