An unconfirmed report circulating online alleges that three students from the University of Calabar, commonly known as UNICAL, have been kidnapped. According to the information shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by a media user, the abducted students are Damilola Dickson, Ugwu Chukwuemeka, and Ojang Precious Ebejin, all of whom are affiliated with the institution.
The statement shared by the media user revealed that Damilola Dickson, a final year student in the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, is among the reported victims. The post further disclosed that Ugwu Chukwuemeka, a 300-level student also studying Genetics and Biotechnology, and Ojang Precious Ebejin, a 200-level student of Medicine and Surgery, are allegedly among those kidnapped.
The media user, expressing concern and urgency, called upon notable individuals to assist in providing any information that could contribute to the safe return of the abducted students. Additionally, she appealed to the University of Calabar security team, the Commissioner of Police, and the State Government of Cross River State for assistance in resolving the situation.
