In his plea to President Tinubu, Falana urged him to spearhead an anti-corruption campaign that would enable Nigeria, as the largest concentration of black people on earth, to assume its rightful position among the global community.

Highlighting the dire consequences of corruption, Falana emphasized how high-ranking public officials have been diverting funds intended for healthcare facilities, leading to the loss of countless lives due to inadequate medical resources. He also stressed that some individuals regularly entering and exiting the presidential villa are currently undergoing trials for misappropriating national funds, emphasizing the importance of sending the right signals to both the citizens and the international community.

Expanding on the need to prevent corrupt individuals from holding government positions, Falana cited the example of former Nigerian President and Chairman of the anniversary lecture, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (GCFR). He noted that during Obasanjo's administration, individuals facing corruption charges were not appointed to positions of authority, and he called for a return to such practices.
