The current Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, recently stated that after he hands over to the incoming government on May 29, he will only visit the North-West state if it becomes necessary. This statement was made during a policy conversation and book launch event that took place in Abuja on Tuesday, May 9.

El-Rufai also revealed during the event that he has no intention of returning to his former position as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, even if he is offered the opportunity. He made it clear that he is done with that job and has no desire to look back.

According to El-Rufai, he never looks back once he leaves a job. The only time he has visited the FCT since he left his former position as Minister was in 2016, when his secondary school classmate was appointed the Minister and asked to see him. If he leaves Kaduna in 19 days, he will only visit the state if it becomes absolutely necessary.

El-Rufai made it clear that he does not think about the FCT and has already done his bit there. He also stated that he does not comment on the performance of those that came after him. Even if he is offered the position again, he will not return to Abuja. El-Rufai believes that he is too old for the job and there are many young people he knows who can do a better job than he did when he held the position.

In conclusion, El-Rufai made it clear that he is done with the jobs he has had and is not interested in returning to any of them, including the position of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. He believes it's time for younger people with more energy and vigor to take up such roles.
