According to Odutola, the altercation between the deceased and the suspects stemmed from a disagreement over sitting on a "worktable." The statement revealed that the conflict escalated into a quarrel, with successive uncontrollable anger and arguments leading to the fatal altercation.

The husband of the deceased, Isiaka Owoade, reported the incident to the Divisional Police Officer of OGIJO upon his return from a journey. He recounted that on March 29, 2024, his late wife informed him that on the previous day, March 28, 2024, at about 20:30, Chizoke Obiadada and his son, Michael Obiadada, had mercilessly beaten her after she prevented them from sitting on her worktable, which she used for selling "Pomo" (edible animal skin).

Tope Owoade was rushed to Main Frame private hospital and Kunle hospital Atan Agowa after sustaining fatal injuries, but unfortunately, she was rejected. She passed away while being transported to a government hospital. Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer swiftly arrested the culprits, who are currently undergoing preliminary investigations. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.

Efforts are underway to deposit the deceased at OOUTH Sagamu morgue for post-mortem examination.
