A Nigerian female soldier, Lance Corporal Jonah Comfort, finds herself in hot water after allegedly pilfering jewelry [/b]worth N35 million from the home of an army general's wife in Kaduna.
The incident unfolded at the residence where Lance Corporal Comfort was on duty, raising eyebrows about her alleged premeditated actions.
Reports suggest that Lance Corporal Jonah Comfort had been surveilling the general's wife for a considerable period leading up to the theft.
Insider sources speaking to SaharaReports have raised questions about the extensive jewelry collection owned by the general's wife, who is described as a full-time homemaker.
The stolen jewelry, valued at N35 million, represents only a portion of the valuable possessions reportedly owned by the general's wife.
Lance Corporal Comfort purportedly offloaded the stolen jewelry to a jeweler for a mere N5 million, leading to her subsequent apprehension.
“The army authorities have been careful over the issue because the general’s wife is a full housewife, so how come she has jewellery worth millions of Naira? The jewellery stolen by the soldier, which was valued at N35 million, was just part of her collection,” a source close to the situation said.
“The female soldier had long been monitoring the woman before stealing the jewellery worth N35 million which she later sold to one jeweller for N5 million but unfortunately she was caught.
“Sadly, most of these female soldiers have been turned into slaves by our senior officers’ wives. Now she has been dismissed and put in a cell.”
