Fans on popular microblogging social network, Twitter have heaped praises on Nigerian internationally acclaimed artist, Wizkid for bagging yet another feat.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner in the early hours of today was confirmed to be the first artist from Nigeria to have a song certified Gold in Canada.
His 2017 hit song, ‘Soco’ featuring Terri, Spotless and Ceeza Milli is the one that has now been certified Gold selling over 40,000 units in the country.
A quick check shows that the song was not released under his international label imprint but under his own personal label, StarBoy.
This is good news as it goes to show that good Nigerian musics sell their self with no stress.
With this new certification, Wizkid extends his lead as the Nigerian artist with the most certifications in Canada.
Other songs by Wizkid who have been certified are, One Dance by Drake featuring him and Kyla and it was certified Diamond.
Come Closer, his own song featuring Drake was certified Gold and Borrowed Love by Metro Boomin featuring himself and Swae Lee certified Gold.
Right now, the latest addition is ‘Soco’ which is certified Gold.
Wizid however holds the record of the best selling Nigerian artist in Canada with over 920,000 units sold.
Well, his fans have began to rain praises on him as some have termed him ‘The Greatest’.
