Nigerian music sensation, Tems has set a new record as she became the first and only Nigerian female artist to achieve this in the US.
Singer and performer Tems has set a new record for Nigerian female artists as she became the first and the only one to achieve an unimaginable feat with her hit single 'Free Mind.'
Tems 'Free Mind' has been certified Gold by the RIAA in the US after the hit solo song sold over 500,000 units in the US alone. The hit song, which was released on the 25th of September 2020, has gone viral worldwide with the hit song currently on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2022. It has also peaked at number one on the Billboard US Afrobeats Chart and debuted on the Billboard US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and the Billboard US Rhythmic.
This is not Tems' first RIAA certification as she has also been acknowledged for her contribution to collaborations; 'Essence' and 'Wait For U' both received platinum certifications from the RIAA.
