Bimbo, the wife of popular Lagos businessman, Ikechukwu Ogbonna popularly known as IVD, has been confirmed dead barely 48 hours after she was placed in an Intensive Care Unit after suffering burn injuries in their home.
It was reported on Wednesday, that Bimbo who has reportedly been enduring domestic violence for 22 years of their marriage, allegedly set the house ablaze after being beaten by her husband.

Neighbors claim they heard Bimbo’s screams during the fight, which led to their house at Megamound estate, Lekki, Lagos, being set ablaze.
IVD escaped with minor burns, while Bimbo suffered severe burns and was rushed to the intensive care unit that night.

Bimbo first opened up on the domestic abuses she’s been subjected to in 2019, after regaining consciousness after she was allegedly beaten to a coma by her husband while she was 8-months pregnant.
IVD however shared a video of their reconciliation on October 4, 2020, days after she released an exposé explaining how she suffered domestic violence while with him for 19 years.
Early this year, Bimbo declared herself “mentally unstable” and said her life is “being destroyed”. She also left a short note believed to be addressed to her husband, while also begging people to take away her children before they are also destroyed.

Asides from revealing that she went into the marriage with “good intentions”, Bimbo also disclosed that she is the only one among her parents’ seven children who is not a graduate. She said this was because she paused her life for IVD.
Despite sharing details of the abuses she was subjected to in her marriage on social media, Bimbo stayed in the marriage.
