Blackface, a pivotal member of the defunct music group Plantashun Boiz, recently shared his side of the story in an explosive interview on The Honest Bunch podcast. According to his recollections, he and 2Face initially founded the band in Blackface's father's backyard in Otukpo, Benue State.

After forming the two-man band, they started landing gigs and touring various northern cities. However, Blackface had to return to school at the Institute of Management Technology in Enugu. He explained, "I said, let me finish my school first, and then I’ll continue my music. And then, when I went to IMT, Tuface came to meet me in IMT, and he was like the music was still in his head, and he didn’t know how to go about it."

"I am that guy to straight-line anything you want to do, if it’s music, especially. And I said the number one thing you have to do is stop jumping from group to group. I’m preparing to go to Lagos, but I could take you with me. And that was how I brought Tuface with me from Enugu to Lagos," Blackface continued.

Upon their arrival in Lagos, the 'Hard Life' singer mentioned that they stayed with his brother, Sam Ahmedu, in Obalende before making their way to FESTAC. During this period, they reportedly crossed paths with concert promoter Nelson Brown, delved into the Rothman's rhythm, embarked on tours, encountered the Remedies, and engaged in various musical endeavors.

Blackface also alleged that it took up to six months for 2Face to agree to allow Faze to join the group, marking the initial formation of the iconic Plantashun Boiz.
