Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo recently spoke out to clarify her decision to block May Edochie, the estranged wife of fellow actor Yul Edochie, on social media. Ogbodo addressed the issue after facing intense backlash from May’s supporters, who harshly criticized her in the wake of a robbery incident at her boutique.
Uche Ogbodo took to Instagram to respond to her detractors, highlighting that she had become a target for what she described as toxic behavior from May Edochie’s fans. The actress claimed that the negative reactions she encountered were unjust and that the incident had become an excuse for May’s supporters to mock and insult her.
In her statements, Ogbodo explained that some of May Edochie’s fans had cruelly suggested that the robbery was a result of “karma” for supporting Yul Edochie’s second wife, Judy Austin. She expressed disappointment, accusing May’s fan base of being overly aggressive and toxic in their comments.
Uche Ogbodo further labeled these individuals as “toxic fans,” revealing that she ultimately chose to block May Edochie because she felt that May was tolerating or even enabling her supporters’ negative behavior toward her.
She voiced her frustrations in a lengthy post, sharing her thoughts with her followers.
“Toxic May Edochie fans! Unah go dey Taya ooo. Very very toxic bunch of lunatics! You people don’t own this social media,” she began, expressing her annoyance with the relentless negativity.
“No matter how toxic you get, you can never pass Wizkid’s FC. Stop watching my videos if it hurts so bad. Misfortune is life, and it’s rotational; it will surely swing. So wait for your own turn. Allow me to enjoy mine,” she added, suggesting that life’s challenges affect everyone eventually.
Continuing her response to their karma accusations, she stated, “Singing Karma Karma. Does karma visit innocent person? Someone whose heart is pure and not ridden with evil? Hell No!”
Ogbodo went on to argue that the recent robbery at her store was a random misfortune, not a form of karma for her personal choices, remarking, “Thief stole my goods then it’s my Karma because I chose to mind my business. The real karma is coming to you for being evil and vile towards people.”
She concluded by addressing her decision to block May Edochie, explaining, “I blocked May because you wouldn’t let me like her pictures in peace. And she seems to enjoy the toxicity! So that pisses me off! As she cannot tell you to stop.”
