In her book, “Becoming,” she candidly discusses various aspects of her life, including the revelation that she bleached her skin because her then ex-husband, Maje, was cheating on her with someone who had lighter skin. Hoping to capture his attention and prevent him from straying, she opted to alter her skin tone to resemble the other woman. However, the outcome wasn't what she had hoped for, as their marriage ended in divorce.
During a Twitter question and answer session with her fans and followers, Toke was asked what she would do differently if she could go back in time. In response, she expressed that she wouldn't change anything, emphasizing that regret is exhausting. However, she admitted that bleaching her skin was one of the dumbest decisions she made, expressing gratitude for her good genes and financial means to rectify the situation.
